MPS Programs Count toward DEA Training Requirement

The Maryland Psychiatric Society has offered 16 hours of CME credit over the past several years that count toward the new one-time, 8-hour training requirement for all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders,  Please see this list for ones you may have attended to be sure you count all previously earned credits before deciding whether additional training is needed for renewing a DEA registration.

Another approved source that counts toward the 8 hours needed is  training to meet the requirements of the DATA-2000 waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.

CME from any accredited source (see list) earned before December 29, 2022 on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders also counts toward the requirement.
