We at the Maryland Psychiatric Society are appalled by the violent and deadly attack by Hamas on Israel over the weekend. The resulting war has already killed thousands, including many families, children, and other civilians. We feel helpless over these acts that claim so many lives and destroy so many communities. We endorse the following statement by the American Psychological Association and share the concerns of our colleagues about the ongoing and far-reaching effects of this war.
