In accordance with the Maryland General Assembly legislation from 2021 and 2022, the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services’ Centers of Excellence will host the Annual State Summit on Behavioral Health and the Justice System: Utilizing the Sequential Intercept Model. This workshop will take place on October 23 and 24 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 100 Community Place, Crownsville, MD 21032.
The free two-day event will open discussion regarding how individuals with behavioral health needs come in contact with and flow through the criminal justice system. Day one will include panel discussions for each intercept within the Sequential Intercept Model where participants will have a chance to ask questions about current resources across the state. Day two will focus on smaller breakout sessions to help identify opportunities for linkage to services and for prevention of further penetration into the criminal justice system.
