Whether you are experienced advocate or just learning the ropes, please join us on Thursday January 14th from 6:30-7:30 PM via Zoom for a for an introduction to legislative advocacy in Maryland. The 2021 General Assembly will operate with new protocols designed to limit spread of the coronavirus. These changes create challenges as well as some opportunities. Anne Hanson, MD, Co-Chair of the MPS Legislative Committee, will introduce participants to the structure of the Maryland General Assembly and the legislative process. Sample legislation will demonstrate how the MPS approaches proposed bills, to include written and oral testimony experiences. There will also be an introduction to the Maryland General Assembly web site and how to watch livestreamed or archived committee testimony. This meeting is FREE and is open to all Maryland psychiatrists.
