The Maryland law requiring electronic prescribing of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) includes exceptions in addition to a waiver for prescribers under certain scenarios, including economic hardship, technological limitations, and other circumstances. The Office of Controlled Substances Administration offers calendar year waivers.
