Steven Daviss, M.D. to Receive Lifetime of Service Award
The Maryland Psychiatric Society Council voted to present the 2023 MPS Lifetime of Service Award to Steven R. Daviss, M.D. for decades of devoted service to the organization. The award will be presented at the April 20 annual meeting. Please join us in honoring him at this event.
Dr. Daviss joined the organization in 1993 and served as 2004-2005 MPS President. His longstanding MPS committee service includes 25 years on the Legislative Committee, including 4 as chair, as well as years of service on the Council, and the Communications, Nominations and Elections, Payer Relations and Public Psychiatry committees. He currently leads the Collaborative Care Model Interest Group. Dr. Daviss has also served 6 years as the APA Assembly Representative from the MPS and 4 years as MedChi Delegate. In addition, he has served many years on the boards of the Maryland Foundation for Psychiatry and the Maryland Psychiatric Political Action Committee.
In keeping with his dedication to service, he has also taken leadership roles in other organized medicine groups, including the Baltimore City Medical Society and the Maryland-DC Society of Addiction Medicine, for which he is the Immediate Past President.
