The Maryland Psychiatric Society Council voted on February 11 to give the 2020 Lifetime of Service Award to Jesse Hellman, M.D. for decades of devoted service to the organization and related groups. The award will be presented at the April 2 annual meeting. Dr. Hellman joined the MPS in 1976 and served as 1990-1991 MPS President. His MPS committee service includes Peer Review Chair 1983-1988 and also Peer Review member, Managed Care Chair 1995-1996 and member, and Editorial Advisory Board member 2008-present.  In addition, he has served on the Maryland Psychiatric Political Action Committee board.
