SUMMARY:Free Half & Half MAT Buprenorphine Waiver Training
DESCRIPTION:7:30 am – 8 am: Registration\n8 am – 12:15 pm: Training\n12:15 pm – 12:45 pm: Community behavioral health partners networking & lunch\n  \nHalf-and-Half Course\nThe PCSS Half-and-Half Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) waiver training course provides an overview of the FDA-approved medication buprenorphine prescribed for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). The course meets the required 8-hour training to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of OUD. The course trainer will conduct an overview of prevention\, identification\, and treatment of substance use disorders emphasizing OUD. \nThe buprenorphine waiver 8-hour training is offered in a ‘half- and-half’ format – 4 hours of in-person training followed up by 4 hours of online training through PCSS-MAT. When applying for the AMA PRA\, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed credit\, not as Category 1. \nOnline portion \nIn support of improving patient care\, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)\, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)\, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)\, the American Academy of PAs (AAPA)\, American Psychological Association (APA) and Association for Social Work Boards (ASWB) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. \nPhysician Designation\nAmerican Academy of Addiction Psychiatry designates this enduring material for a maximum of 4 (four) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. \nNursing Designation\nThis program has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 4 (four) Nursing Contact Hours. \nPhysician Assistant Designation\nAmerican Academy of Addiction Psychiatry has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria.
